About Coconut

Species scientific name: Alouatta caraya
Age/sex: Adult female
Likes: Her alone time
Special skills: Most unpredictable monkey
Best friend: Joaquin

Coconut is one of the most unpredictable monkeys we have in the city. You never really know where she runs off to or what she is thinking about doing, well, that’s when she is not napping away from the rest of her group. She often creeps up on you as you are preoccupied watching the other members of her group.

Coconut is an adult female who is a part of the group we call the ‘police’ group. This group lives in a small field that is surrounded by gardens in the San Francisco neighborhood. Here, Coconut has two favorite trees, one that towers over the surrounding houses for a full view of Pilar, and the other that is a mango tree in the heart of a neighbor’s garden. It is here she blends in with her surroundings and watches as the neighbors spend time outside or the dogs roam through the area, but most importantly, where she spends her time peacefully alone..

If you adopt Coconut, consider also adopting her best friend Joaquin.

You can adopt Coconut for one year for £50.
